Check out what we did today for "Super Science Wednesday"!!!

Each Wednesday our class participates in a science event that we call "Super Science Wednesday".  Often this involves an experiment and we talk about our predictions, observations and conclusions.  Today we did something a little different as we took our learning outside...

Together with our friends from Mrs. Burkhart and Mrs. Lounsbury's class, we will be participating in an environmentally friendly activity.  We will be creating our very own "kinderGARDEN" right outside our school.  This is a big project for our many little hands (we may even get some help from some of the big kids in the school)!  Take a look at how we started today.

This is the area that we will be changing into our "kinderGARDEN".  We talked about what it looks like now.

Our first step is to remove all these rocks!

But wait...under all these rocks there are lots of interesting things.  One of our friends found a worm!

We decided to use a wagon to load up the rocks we don't need.  Rocks are very interesting to kindergarten children, so we also decided to keep some for our classroom.  We'll be describing, sorting, cleaning and having lots of fun with rocks tomorrow!

Isn't is amazing how different rocks can be?  There are many colours, patterns, shapes and textures to explore!

Back in the classroom, we used PICTURES and WORDS to list all the things we found under the rocks.
