Castle Center Open!
Following the children's lead, we decided to transform our dramatic play area into a castle. This idea came from a small group of children who were reading a book about a castle. We brainstormed as a class all the things we would need to create a castle. Before long, many of our students were involved in setting up this new imaginative play center.
We added some cozy beanbag chairs and books to our castle center and suddenly we had a great new quiet reading area as well!
Take a look at our friends enjoying our castle center!

We asked the children to tell us everything they know about castles. All students were asked to draw a picture of a castle. Look at the fantastic drawings made by the children! |

Many friends took it upon themselves to design and draw their very own castles on large paper. |

We visited the school library to find books about castles. |

We read Robert Munsch's story "The Paper Bag Princess". We created character pieces to go with this story. |
