Our Trip to Camp Gesstwood....
|
Well, it was the trip that never was! Unfortunately due to flooding conditions at Gesstwood camp, we were unable to go on our field trip on Thursday June 13th. We broke the news to the children and decided we would make our very own special day! So, since we had rain boots, we went outside and explored the many puddles in our school yard. This was a big treat, since normally we tell the children "Stay out of the puddles". Take a look at our children having a great time exploring the puddles. Going for this little "rainboot walk" turned into a measurement discussion, as the children compared the depths of different puddles! We sang the song "In My Big Rubber Boots" as we stomped through the puddles and the children even created their very own chant, "Rubber boots are fun!". |

On our walk, we heard some interesting sounds coming from the pond area. Guess what it was? Bullfrogs! The bullfrogs sounded pretty happy that morning! |

A special thanks to Mrs. Soulliere for providing our class with a hot chocolate and timbit treat on this day! We also joined with Mrs. Burkhart's JK/SK class to have "together playtime". So, we started our day with our "thumbs down", but by the end of the day our thumbs were up and we were smiling!
We are looking forward to our upcoming events, Mad Science, Clarol the Clown and an ice cream treat day, in place of our field trip! |
