  Kindergarten Cooks!

We had a very successful first cooking experience.  We made fruit salad and grilled cheese sandwiches.  The children were involved in the entire process, right from making my grocery list, writing the instructions, preparing the food and of course EATING it!

Writing a letter to Mrs. Petta to invite her to our lunch!
The students helped create my shopping list!

A thumbs up for a tasty lunch!

Preparing fruit for our fruit salad!

Miss Sydney, our co-op student helped the children make their grilled cheese sandwiches.

Thanks to Mrs. York for grilling the sandwiches!

The Many Shades of Colour

Our Super Science Wednesday investigation involved creating different shades of colour. We looked at paint samples and discussed the differences in the colours. We also looked at the different shades of pink that our classmates wore to school on "Anti-Bully" day. Who wore the brightest pink? Who wore the lightest pink? We explored how adding small amounts of white and black changed the paint colours.

Comparing the different types of pink...

We added different amounts of white to change the color and compared our colours to the paint sample cards.

Look at the different colours we created!

The Grand Opening of Tim Hortons

After much planning, problem-solving and creating, our Tim Hortons dramatic play center opened today! It was the popular center of the day and the children enjoyed this new classroom activity very much!

"Welcome to Tim Hortons.  Can I take your order please?"

There was a long line-up at Tim Hortons today!

Getting ready to serve some timbits!

We used our "best guess spelling" to print a list of items for sale at Tim Hortons.
